With over 17 years of dance experience, Amy has studied ballet since the age of 5. In addition to ballet, Amy has also studied tap for over 12 years through the Newcastle based Pullars Dance Academy Unique Technique Tap Syllabus and has over 10 years experience in the styles of jazz and modern/contemporary. Amy is a highly respected dance teacher throughout Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
Amy has a Bachelor Arts/Bachelor Teaching (Primary) degree through the University of Newcastle and is an experienced Primary School teacher. Utilising her professional skills as a primary school teacher with her ballet/tap teaching qualifications and experience, Amy has a lovely gentle and caring teaching style.
Amy was also a member of the Hunter Region Marching Koalas Band as a flag and baton twirler. Notable performances through this were: Disneyland, Disneyworld, Hong Kong Disneyland. World Band Championships Monza, Italy. World Expo, China Calgary Stampede, Canada. Lincoln Performing Arts Center, New York and many other venues around the world and Australia.
Shannon began dancing at the age of 3 and has studied several styles of dance. Tap is Shannon’s first love but she has also studied jazz and modern/contemporary for many years. She also studied ballet for a short time. Shannon has completed PDA Tap exams up to Grade 6 achieving distinctions above 92% in every exam. She has also competed in Hunter Dance Festival as part of her school dance group, twice qualifying for State Dance Competition. Shannon has also competed in local eisteddfods both in groups and duos.
Shannon has been assistant teaching at EDA and is looking forward to sharing her love and passion for dance with others. In 2016, Shannon will be teaching junior tap, jazz and modern classes.
Claudia started dancing at the age of 3. She has studied a variety of styles including PDA tap, jazz and modern/contemporary. Claudia has completed PDA Tap exams up to and including Grade 4, achieving excellent results. She has competed as a group and a duo in several local eisteddfods. Claudia has a passion for dancing.
Claudia has developed her teaching skills being an assistant teacher and will join EDA faculty teaching junior tap, jazz and modern classes.
Harmony started dancing at the age of 2 across a range of different styles including ballet, jazz and modern/contemporary. She has completed Grades 3, 4, 5 and Intermediate Foundation ballet exams with the Royal Academy of Dance, gaining credits and distinctions. Harmony has been competing in many eisteddfods both in groups and individually, in Port Macquarie, Taree, Singleton and Muswellbrook.
Harmony has performed in a variety of shows including 'Stranger than Fiction' in Aspire 2015, Hairspray Jr the musical and will be performing in the Aspire 2016 show. She has also competed in Physical Culture competitions gaining 2nd in the Zone Competition in 2013 and 1st at Nationals in Sydeny in 2014. In 2015, Harmony attended a week long ballet workshop with the Newcastle Ballet Theatre where she was able to learn under the guidance of professional dancers
In 2016, Harmony will be teaching some of the junior ballet classes and stretch and flex classes.
Sarah started dancing at the age of 4. She has studied jazz, modern/contemporary, PDA Tap and RAD ballet. Sarah has completed PDA Tap exams up to Grade 5 and has completed her Intermediate Foundation ballet exam with the Royal Academy of Dance. Sarah has competed in eisteddfods for dancing and singing. She also undertakes tuition in singing, piano, guitar and drama.
Sarah has performed at weddings, Carols By Candlelight at Hunter Valley Gardens and Welsh festivals. She has performed in the St Joseph’s High School production of Hairspray and MATS productions of Annie and Oliver. Sarah also played the lead role of Duchess in the Aristocats with Opera Hunter.
In 2016, Sarah will be assistant teacher for the junior ballet classes.
